In less than 24 hours (and often within a remarkably quick timeframe of less than 10 minutes), an experienced energy consultant will reach out to introduce themselves and to gather more detailed information about your specific project and needs.

Step 2 - Catering To Your Needs

After we carefully evaluate your energy usage, conduct a thorough site analysis, and obtain all of the necessary information required to customize your solar system, we will arrange a free, no-obligation consultation with a knowledgeable Smart Source team member. During this informative meeting, you will have the opportunity to learn in detail about the solar system that we have tailored specifically for your needs, as well as receive comprehensive cost analysis and ROI information. Ultimately, we aim to provide you with a clear guide to potential savings and the positive environmental metrics associated with your new solar energy solution.

Step 3 - We Go To Work

After you thoroughly review the specific details of your solar project and provide us with your green-light to proceed, our dedicated team expertly handles all of the nitty-gritty, time-consuming paperwork on your behalf. We ensure that all necessary interconnection, state rebate, and township permitting documentation is in order and meticulously prepped in a timely manner. We take great pride in our industry-leading turnaround permit times, typically within 3-4 weeks, which may vary depending on your Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Additionally, we often have the capability to schedule your installation on the very same day that your permit is issued. During the period in which the Building Department is reviewing the project details, rest assured that all other required paperwork has been completed and filed accordingly, ensuring a smooth progression of your project.

Step 4 - The Installation

You can expect your installation process to be incredibly expeditious in its completion with no gaps or loose ends will exist upon finalization. The quality of our work takes precedence over the time it takes to thoroughly complete the installation. Our dedicated team consists of former town inspectors and rebate auditors, ensuring that all aspects of the installation are handled with the utmost care and are nothing less than impeccable in their execution.

Step 5 - PTO & Chill

With a nod to the popular phrase “Netflix & Chill,” at Smart Source, we can confidently guarantee that once your solar panel system is installed and turned on, you will nothing more to do than sit back and relax. After installation completion, a project coordinator submits for PTO (Permission To Operate) within 24 hours, barring weekend installations or federal holidays. This diligent process ensures that your system receives the necessary approval in approximately two weeks or even less, depending on the circumstances. While some utilities may take a bit longer to review your project, we consistently strive to expedite this crucial element of the process in order to keep our customers 100% satisfied. Once we turn your system on, it’s time to sit back, relax, and let the Sun, Earth, or Wind do the work for you. Within just 30 days of receiving PTO, you’ll notice a vast decrease in your utility expenses along with a substantial increase in your system's kWh production, providing you with both savings and energy independence!
